Provincial fire olympics to be held today, March 26, 2009
PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, BUKIDNON – In observance of this month’s Fire Prevention Month, a Fire Olympics event will be held today, March 26, 2009 at the Capitol Grounds, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Members and officers of fire brigades from Malaybalay City, Valencia City, Municipality of Quezon, Municipality of Manolo Fortich, Municipality of Kibawe and Municipality of Maramag will take part in today’s activities. Volunteer fire brigades will also see action today.
The whole-day event aims to provide a platform for members of the various fire departments in the province to strengthen camaraderie and exercise their skills in firefighting.
The winner of today’s activities will represent the Province of Bukidnon during the regional meet in Cagayan de Oro City.
The Bukidnon firemen will battle it out in activities such as tug of war, bucket relay, rescue and fire estinguishment exercises.
Cash prizes as well as trophies will be given to the winning team.
Bukidnon Governor Jose Zubiri, Jr. is expected to grace the event today. (MISA/Bukidnon News)
