Ombudsman denies appeal of former Bukidnon congressman
BUKIDNON NEWS – The Office of the Ombudsman has reportedly denied the motion for reconsideration of former Bukidnon First District Congressman JR Nereus “Neric” Acosta in relation to the graft charges filed against him, his mother and his aunt.
The Ombudsman reportedly claims that its findings were “properly supported by the documents submitted by both parties during the preliminary investigation.”
Sir Neric, his mother, former Manolo Fortich Bukidnon mayor Socorro Acosta and his aunt Nemia Bornidor, were charged with graft. This, after then congressman Sir Neric reportedly channeled public funds to BINHI, Inc., a Manolo-Fortich based non government organization.
