NPA, army clash in Zamboanguita, Malaybalay City leaves 17 dead
MALAYBALAY CITY, PROVINCE OF BUKIDNON – Members of the New People’s Army (NPA) recently raided a Philippine army outpost in a far flung barangay here past midnight Tuesday. The clash left 17 dead, including a 6-year old child. A total of 11 NPA rebels died because of the clash.
The clash between the NPA rebels and the army happened in a Civilian Auxiliary Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) base in Barangay Zamboanguita, Malaybalay City.
However, authorities say that a barangay official was earlier abducted from Barangay St. Peter and was eventually executed. The barangay official was later identified as one Loloy Ramos.
