Newborn baby found abandoned at Barangay 3, Malaybalay
A newborn baby was found abandoned at a vacant space behind a boarding house at Purok 3, Barangay 3, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon the morning of November 20, 2019.
According to a police report, a concerned citizen by the name of Jhun Pescador, 41, and a resident of Lantapan, Bukidnon, informed authorities of a newborn baby’s cries from behind the Luna Boarding House. Pescador was visiting his daughter.
A team from the Malaybalay City Police Station, led by PSSg Ruby Joy E Sambaan, proceeded to the location and found a female newborn baby on a grassy part of the vacant lot. She was wrapped in black cloth and was reportedly covered with a taro leaf.
The baby was rushed to nearby Bethel Baptist Hospital for medical attention. A representative from the Malaybalay Social Welfare and Development Office was also present.
As of this writing, the baby is alive and healthy. No motive for the abandonment has been determined.
