Netizens oppose transfer of Kaamulan Festival from March to October

Netizens have expressed opposition to Bukidnon Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri’s supposed decision to transfer the Kaamulan Festival 2015 from March to October. In an online survey conducted by the Kaamulan Festival Facebook page, several netizens said “No” to the question “Do you want Kaamulan 2015 be moved to October?”

According to this article, Zubiri wanted to move Kaamulan 2015 to October because allegedly, only Malaybalay City, Valencia City and three other Bukidnon municipalities have the budget to participate.

Kaamulan Festival, a yearly festival that aims to gather Bukidnon’s 7 hill tribes, is usually held every March. In 2014, Kaamulan Festival was held in August so that it would coincide with the Bukidnon Centennial Celebration.
