Monastery of Transfiguration retreat guest falls prey to female thief
MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON – This piece of news really bothered me.
A 55 year old lady (I won’t name her here for obvious reasons) from Bonbon, Butuan City, who recently stayed at the retreat house of the Monastery of Transfiguration in Barangay San Jose, Malaybalay City, fell prey to a female thief.
According to police reports, the victim was asleep in her room at the retreat house at around 1:40 a.m. when the suspect allegedly knocked on the door and introduced herself as a staff member of the monastery. The thief then grabbed the victim’s bag which contained a studded gold ring, a watch and some cash.
The victim’s bag was then found the next day but all of its contents were already missing. (Bukidnon Online)
