Marketing and e-Promotions for MSMEs day…fun!
MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON, MINDANAO – Upon the invitation of my good friend Reuel “Rey” Gallo (the very affable proprietor of Rey’s Grill and BBQ — his restaurant, by the way, is located at Don Carlos corner Tabios Streets, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon…hehe plugging :D) I had the chance to attend the “Marketing and e-Promotion for MSMEs” seminar yesterday, June 24, 2009 at the Media Resource Center of the Bukidnon State University here in Malaybalay City.
Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bukidnon, Bukidnon I.T. and E-Commerce Committee (BITECC), PLDT SME Nation and hosted by Bukidnon State University (BSU), the event aimed to support the SMEs of the Province of Bukidnon and to present them with various tools, end-to-end solutions, options and opportunities for them to further enhance their enterprises.
The entrepreneur-participants that day came from Malaybalay City, Valencia City, Manolo Fortich, Don Carlos, Quezon and other parts of the province. It was a really opportune time to network — in fact, I was so glad to meet the owners of spring resorts in Bukidnon, “pasalubong” centers and products, brick shops as well as businessmen engaged in handicrafts, agriculture etc. Soon enough, I can have the chance to feature these places and industries here in Bukidnon Online 🙂 And oh…here’s something I learned during the workshop…did you know that the sukang Pinangga is a product of Malaybalay? Cool, eh?
During the whole-day training, we entrepreneurs (ahem) were taught how to build websites using PLDT SME Nation’s products, briefed on the basics of marketing, branding and sales and we were also presented with PLDT’s various end-to-end solutions and equipment such as wireless card payment terminals, wireless Internet gadgets and even cellular phone cum mobile Internet tools.
I was seriously contemplating of availing of the Blackberry package. For only P1,800 per month, I get a spanking brand new Blackberry plus airtime, text messaging service and mobile Internet. Can’t help but drool over that, yes? Calling PLDT SME Nation! I’d be glad to have one, thank you very much! 😀
All in all…my day was very productive. Cheers to the event organizers and here’s to many more helpful trainings to come!
