Malaybalay City shelter plan 2026 OK’d
The government housing office in Northern Mindanao has given approval to Malaybalay City’s first housing plan for the year 2026. Paris Raymond S. Gaballo, who leads the regional housing office, said Malaybalay City is the first city or town in the area to submit a housing plan that matches its land development rules and follows the required government guidelines from 2022.
“This success means the city can now use better information and planning methods to build homes & develop communities. It will help them get money for projects, make smart choices about using land, and create stronger neighborhoods that include everyone,” Gaballo explained.
The approval came after a four-year wait caused by problems during the health crisis.

Klook.comThe housing office said this plan will be used as an example for other cities and towns in the region when they create or update their own housing plans. These plans connect with the national housing program called “Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program” which the national government created to solve the shortage of homes in the country. The plan focuses on helping people who need homes the most, especially families who lost their homes or jobs during the COVID-19 health crisis. This connects local housing goals with what the national government wants to achieve.

Now that the plan is approved Malaybalay City can get money and loans from the national government to start building homes through the national housing program. This could help the local economy grow, especially in building and property businesses. The regional housing office asked other towns and cities in Northern Mindanao to send in their housing plans. This would improve how housing is managed and make community projects happen faster.
