It’s final: Only 1 person allowed per motorcycle
It’s final. Following much confusion and numerous complaints about the Bukidnon general community quarantine guidelines released last week, the Bukidnon provincial government has made two things clear: that bakeries/bake shops are allowed to operate and that only 1 person per motorcycle is allowed.
In the earlier version of Executive Order Number 20 series of 2020, “bakeries and bake shops” were not included in the list of selected essential business establishments allowed to operate during the quarantine period.
The amended EO also discussed the controversial rule on the number of people allowed to use privately owned vehicles.
Accordingly, 4-wheeled private vehicles can have 1 passenger. The driver and passenger, who must strictly follow social distancing rules, must carry a quarantine pass and must be able to produce valid IDs whenever asked by proper authorities at control points.
As for motorcycles, only 1 person per motorcycle is allowed. That person shall also carry a quarantine pass.
The rule pertaining to motorcycles has garnered numerous complaints. Some claim that their spouses need to ride with them on their way to work while some say that their communities are in far flung areas and that their only option is to ride a motorcycle.
EO 20 has officially taken effect last April 13 and will be in effect until midnight of April 26, 2020.
