What do you think of this? According to a news report, a new batch of former rebels in Bukidnon have received at least Php 65,000 each from the government.

These 8 ex rebels, whose names have not been divulged until now, received the cash from the Government’s Comprehensive Local Integration Program through the Bukidnon Provincial – DILG office with the assistance of the Office of Bukidnon Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri, Jr. and the 403rd Infantry (Peacemaker) Brigade under Col. Eric C. Vinoya.

According to Vinoya, the cash assistance given was “just part of what awaits the former rebels of their new found lives, the true essence of their remuneration is getting their lost lives back as they reunite with their families and communities, free from violence.”

Accordingly, the former rebels decided to go back to the fold due to the hardships they endured when they were in the armed movement. Also, they like to join the mainstream society and enjoy their new life together with their loved ones.
