DTI Bukidnon extends business name registration discount
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has extended the 50% discount on business name registration fee for another six months, or up to 30 June 2010, to encourage employment-generating activities after recent natural calamities resulted to losses in jobs and livelihood.
Department Administrative Order (09-11) took effect 01 January 2010, keeping the registration and business name renewal for sole proprietorships at P150. However, the P15-fee for documentary stamp still applies.
The DTI first lowered the fee in January last year to encourage displaced workers to go into business.
In Bukidnon, around 2,800 entrepreneurs benefited from the discounted rate based from DTI Bukidnon’s 2009 Provincial Accomplishment Report. Of these figure, about 2,500 individuals ventured into new business, while the remaining number were just renewal of existing businesses. (DTI press release)
