Bukidnon mayors advised to undergo self-quarantine
Following Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri’s revelation that he has tested positive for the Coronavirus Disease or COVID-19, several Bukidnon municipal mayors have already been advised to also go under self-quarantine.
This, after 18 Bukidnon municipal mayors, all part of the League of the Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), were spotted in a group photo alongside Senator Migz Zubiri and his brother, Bukidnon 3rd District Congressman Manuel “Manoy” Zubiri.
In a Facebook live session done today, March 17, 2020, Maramag Municipal Mayor Atty. Jose Joel Doromal disclosed that he and the other mayors have been advised by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) provincial office to undergo self-quarantine.
Doromal confirmed that he, along with 17 other mayors, were in Manila from March 9 to 11, 2020 for LMP activities. They met with the two Zubiris on March 10 for a luncheon meeting. The mayors of the two cities in Bukidnon, Malaybalay and Valencia, as well as the mayors of Impasugong and Kitaotao were not in attendance.
Doromal said that the DILG has sent him and the other mayors text messages telling them to impose self-quarantine. Doromal said that he has been undergoing self-quarantine since Saturday of last week and his body temperature has been normal.
Meanwhile, the Municipality of Maramag has also already been declared under community quarantine.
