Bukidnon guv plans to resign from LAKAS
BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON | POLITICS | PERSONALITIES – After endorsing Nacionalista Party standard bearer Manny Villar, Bukidnon Gov. Jose Zubiri now has plans of resigning from LAKAS CMD KAMPI. This is his way of pre-empting the ruling party’s plan of “sanctioning” and most probably, “expeling” him from the party.
Zubiri endorsed Villar recently during the Charter Day celebration of Malaybalay City, the province’s capital.
Zubiri’s sons, however, remain loyal to LAKAS CMD KAMPI. Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri and Bukidnon Third District Congressman Joey Zubiri have said that they will remain with Lakas and will continue to support its standard bearer, Gibo Teodoro.
Interestingly, the older Zubiri claimed that Teodoro snubbed his invitation to address Bukidnon voters and dispel rumors that he is a mere “puppet” of outgoing President Gloria Arroyo.
Teodoro was the guest speaker during the Bukidnon Foundation Day just a few weeks ago.
In his speech, Teodoro denied that he will allow himself to be “used” by any president, even though they may belong under the same party.
