Bukidnon congressmen Paras, Flores file for re-election
BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON ELECTION WATCH 2013 – Bukidnon First District Rep. Jesus Emmanuel Paras and Bukidnon Second District Rep. Florencio T. Flores, Jr. filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) together today, October 2, 2012 at around 2 PM.
Both are seeking for re-election.
Paras said that he is running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition. Flores, on the other hand, was nominated by Nacionalista Party – Bukidnon Paglaum Party (BPP).
Paras said that he’s seeking for re-election because “3 years is not enough to work on my projects.” He said that he will prioritize education. Paras also denied that he was asked to run for Bukidnon governor.
Flores, meanwhile, said that he will prioritize infrastructure, education and health. He also denied reports that he was supposed to run again for Malaybalay City Mayor. Flores served as Malaybalay mayor for 3 terms before he became the Bukidnon Second District congressman.
Paras was accompanied by his wife, supporters and staff. Flores was accompanied by his brother, his son, supporters and staff.
UPDATE: Bukidnon Third District Rep. Jose “Joey” Zubiri III also filed his COC Tuesday afternoon.
