Bukidnon 4Ps families get mobile phones

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has broadened its digital transformation efforts across Northern Mindanao by providing mobile devices to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) households in Bukidnon.

During the Kinabukasang E-Panalo program launch held July 22 in Malaybalay City, DSWD distributed 207 mobile phones to 4Ps participants from Kitaotao, Kalilangan, Talakag, and Lantapan municipalities.

According to DSWD Assistant Secretary Marites Maristela, the program aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s mandate to enhance digital inclusion in public administration by connecting remote families with government programs and financial assistance networks.

“Through our collaboration with Globe Telecom, the program advances digital competency while allowing beneficiaries to receive cash assistance through mobile payment systems,” Maristela added.

Maristela further revealed that DSWD is coordinating with Land Bank of the Philippines, Ayala Foundation, BPI Foundation, Maya, and GCash to scale up the initiative.
