British Council is looking for young social entrepreneurs all over Mindanao
The British Council in the Philippines is inviting young social entrepreneurs all over Mindanao to make a difference in their respective communities by joining the Leaders for Social Impact, a programme geared towards enriching the knowledge and experience of budding social enterprise leaders in the country.
The Leaders for Social Impact is a bespoke social enterprise leadership programme developed from the Active Citizens learning journey. It is designed to bring together like-minded people who would like to make a difference in their communities to learn from and share knowledge with each other. The programme will enable social enterprise leaders to articulate their business and the impact they wish to create.
The workshops are set to take place across the country, between May to July. The deadline for applications for the Mindanao leg is on 29 April; 31 May for Visayas and 1 July for Luzon. Aspiring young entrepreneurs from all over the country are encouraged to join and make their ideas work. The British Council will shoulder both the workshop fee and accommodation but chosen participants will have to pay for their transportation expenses.
The four-day workshops are scheduled as follows:
17–20 May: Gardens of Malasag, Cagayan de Oro as workshop centre for Mindanao
21–24 June: Damires Hills Tierra, Iloilo for Visayas as workshop centre for Visayas
19–22 July: Bulacan for the Luzon leg
The Active Citizens module developed by the British Council has been cascaded in over 40 countries around the world, training 130,000 individuals and launching 5,000 social action projects since its inception in 2009.
