Barangay treasurer in Malaybalay City, businesswoman in Libona fall prey to theft
MALAYBALAY CITY – The treasurer of Barangay 6, Malaybalay City fell prey to theft recently. The pickpocketing incident happened at a large shopping center here. Nelly Lim, Barangay 6 treasurer, lost roughly P20,000.00, which was also supposedly the salaries of her co-barangay council officials.
Lim reportedly just finished withdrawing the said amount from Landbank. She then proceeded to the large shopping center where she fell prey to a pickpocket.
The cash was reportedly in her shoulder bag.
In another development, a businesswoman in Libona, Bukidnon also fell prey to robbers recently. Lucila Tandan was on her way to Sil-ipon, Libona when armed men apprehended her. She was aboard her multicab. The victim lost P300,000.00 to the robbers.
Authorities are still investigating both incidents.
