Bukidnon solon gifts PWD student new wheelchair on eve of birthday
First-time Congressman Atty. John Flores of the Second District of Bukidnon certainly made a PWD (person with disability) student happy a day before his birthday. The neophyte Bukidnon congressman gifted Jay Ar Alcisto, a Malaybalay City National High School student, a new wheelchair. He also gave the boy a birthday cake.
Jay Ar’s old wheelchair was actually given by Flores’ father, current Malaybalay City Mayor Florencio “Doc Boy” Flores.
“That was a very long time ago and you can see that it’s high time the boy receives a new one,” the younger Flores said.
On his official Facebook page, Congressman Flores said:
One of our priority programs ang edukasyon. Mapobre man ta o masapian, kabalo ta nga dako gyud matabang ang pag-eskwela.
Ania si J.R., a differently abled student.
Dugay na kaayo to. Karaan na ang wheelchair so I’m very happy nga naa tay oportunidad to give him a new one.
Salamat sa inspirasyon, J.R.!
Please help me greet him a happy birthday also! Iyang adlawng natawhan karon, August 10.
Although Flores is a first-time politician, he served as a legal and political officer of his father during the latter’s 9-year stint in Congress. The younger Flores, a lawyer, was the official candidate of the President Rodrigo Duterte-led PDP LABAN party during the May 2019 elections.
