Agripo files candidacy for Bukidnon Second District congressman
BUKIDNON NEWS – Engr. Wenifredo E. Agripo has officially filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for Bukidnon Second District Congressman Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 3:18 PM.
Agripo, a former Sangguniang Panlalawigan member, vice governor and Valencia councilor (when it was still a municipality), was accompanied by family and supporters when he filed at the Provincial Commission on Elections office in Malaybalay City. Agripo, who is running under the Liberal Party (LP), is a known ally of Senator TG Guingona III, an LP member and the reported party liaison office for Bukidnon.
Word is out, however, that Agripo merely filed for the 2nd District congressional seat when the real intention is to gun for the congressional seat in the yet-to-be-formalized Bukidnon Fourth District. When asked for confirmation, Agripo said he will soon call for a formal press conference.
In the meantime, he is up against re-electionist Bukidnon Second District Rep. Florencio Flores, Jr., who is running under the Bukidnon Paglaum Party – Nacionalista Party (BPP-NP). (See related story here of Flores filing his COC)
This is Agripo’s second try for the Bukidnon Second District representative seat. Agripo first filed his candidacy for the said position in 2010. He placed 2nd out of 5 candidates with 51,660 votes.
