Please donate to BukidnonOnline.com – money to go to different beneficiaries
BUKIDNON NEWS | DONATE TO BUKIDNON | BUKIDNON COMMUNITY PROJECTS | FUNDRAISING – After 3 years of online existence, we’re finally doing it. However, unlike many blogs that have this, the proceeds will not go to us. Instead, the money will go to different beneficiaries here in the Province of Bukidnon.
Yes, BukidnonOnline.com finally has a donation button. From this day onwards, you can now show your support for us and for everything we’ve been doing, everything we ARE doing and everything we will continue to do through this Paypal donation button below:
You may also notice that there’s a donation button somewhere on this site. We’re sure you’ve seen it as we purposely placed it at a strategic location on this Bukidnon blog.
For those of you who do not have Paypal accounts, you may sign up using this button below:
Alternatively, if you want to donate through bank deposit, Xoom, Western Union or through any other means, please do not hesitate to CONTACT US Donations in kind are also very much welcome!
We know many of you may have reservations about this. To tell you frankly, we also did. After all, Bukidnon Online has existed for 3 years without any financial support from the provincial government or from any municipal or city government unit here in Bukidnon. So why NOW, right?
Because, quite simply, while we do not need the money (as we have other sources of income and we have, time and again, said that Bukidnon Online is a labor of love), BUKIDNON NEEDS YOUR HELP.
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you may have noticed that we’ve voiced our opinions (strong ones at that) on certain matters pertaining this province. We have become frustrated, angry, disappointed and sad. Yes, there have been days when we’ve became happy, inspired and driven. In fact, we’ve shown our deep interest to serve when we organized the first ever blogging workshop in the province as well as the pioneer Bukidnon Bloggers group. We may have asked for a small fee but that workshop fee only covered half of the real expense. Thankfully, we had generous sponsors that time. We also organized several fundraising projects including the one for Typhoon Ondoy victims. We matched the money raised and gave it to Bukidnon Red Cross. But we digress.
Our point is – we don’t want Bukidnon Online to just be a run-of-the-mill type of blog or website about Bukidnon. We don’t want this online space to turn into a mere venue for grievances, complaints and bland news. We now want Bukidnon Online to have a distinct voice, one that could engage everyone to THINK, ACT and DO. We also want Bukidnon Online to be an online conduit – where you can send your support for your beloved hometown and can be assured that your support will go to real projects and real people.
Is this wishful thinking? Are we alone in this crusade?
Please share your thoughts.
As for the donations made through our Paypal account, everything will be transparent and all donors are free to share their messages or can even specify what they want us to do with the money. We’re thinking that initial beneficiaries can include: Bethany Talakag, Bukidnon Red Cross, Bukidnon State University extension programs or even programs that may be led by the Bukidnon Bloggers (feeding program or bloodletting perhaps?) You may also want to donate and help Bukidnon Online and the rest of the Bukidnon Bloggers as they cover the Kaamulan Festival and other activities in the province.
Or you can just donate to Bukidnon Online and keep us going through our crusade!
LET’S DO THIS BUKIDNON! ARE YOU WITH US?
